ROME, N.Y. — Egypt Brown, known as the face of fighter wellness and the driving force behind the Fight 4 Mental Health movement, spent the 2025 International Boxing Hall of Fame weekend strengthening bonds with boxing’s elite and further cementing his role as a trusted figure within the sport.

During the packed weekend in upstate New York, Brown was not only a guest of honor — he was a brother in arms to many of the legends in attendance. He reunited with Roy Jones Jr., a longtime supporter who has welcomed Egypt into his inner circle. The two have been working closely on wellness-related projects to support current and former fighters. “Roy has always seen the bigger picture,” Brown said. “His doors — and his heart — have been open as we build something that’s going to impact generations.”

Brown’s relationship with Manny Pacquiao continues to grow as well. Through ongoing collaboration with Manny’s camp, including respected advisor and MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons and the Gibbons family, Egypt has remained a pillar of support as the Filipino icon transitions into new phases of his career and life.

Also in attendance was Mary Jo Saunders, whose Michigan roots run deep — both in boxing and beyond. The daughter of late Michigan legend Emil “Bud” Saunders, Mary Jo has continued her family’s proud tradition of excellence in the sport. Her commitment to uplifting fighters aligns perfectly with Egypt’s work, and the two have developed a strong mutual respect.

“I’m proud to walk alongside people like Mary Jo,” Brown said. “We come from different worlds, but we fight for the same thing — dignity, legacy, and mental wellness in the sport we love.”

Brown also spent time with WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, whose ongoing partnership has given Egypt and Fight 4 Mental Health crucial visibility on a global stage. “The WBC has been a true champion for mental health,” Brown noted. “Mauricio’s leadership continues to open doors for change.”

Salida Promotions also earned a shout-out from Brown, who has become a familiar face at their events. “Dmitriy Salita and the team have always shown love. They believe in what we’re building,” he said.

Throughout the weekend, Brown’s presence served as a reminder: mental health is no longer an afterthought in combat sports — it’s a necessary foundation.

Call to Action: Join the Fight

As he left the Hall of Fame ceremonies behind, Egypt Brown carried one message forward:

“This isn’t just my mission. It’s yours too. We need everyone — fans, fighters, sponsors, families. We need real advocacy, real funding, and real commitment. Mental health isn’t a side quest — it’s the main event.”
